Compare · OpenTable

OpenTable brings its diner network. Mesatto runs the tables for your in-house guests.

OpenTable presents itself as the largest diner network, with software for hotel restaurants. Mesatto is the reservation system for a hotel's own restaurants, where the diner already has a room, a tier and a stay.

What we say about OpenTable comes from its hotels and casinos page, as of October 11, 2026.

Side by side

What each one solves.

What we say about OpenTable is what it publishes on its site; what we say about Mesatto is what the product does today.

01

Who it's for

OpenTable presents itself as a restaurant platform for hotels and casinos, with its diner network and more than 6,000 hotels in 90 countries. Mesatto is for a hotel or resort's own restaurants and starts from the guest who is already staying there.

02

The hotel guest

OpenTable offers exclusive availability for hotel guests through access rules and a unique link. In Mesatto the guest is the core case: they book with room number and last name, and see their tier's price and what their stay includes, charged to the room.

03

All-inclusive rules

Mesatto applies included visits per tier and per stay, a surcharge after the limit and minimum nights per restaurant, depending on the plan. It is the part of the product built for all-inclusive.

04

PMS

OpenTable says it connects your PMS to the dining room. Mesatto integrates with OPERA Cloud (Pro and Enterprise plans) to bring in room, tier and stay dates; Mews and Cloudbeds are on our roadmap.

05

How you try it

OpenTable offers a demo with its team and lists its plans on its site. Mesatto emails you a ready-made demo, no call needed, and has a 14-day trial with no credit card.

06

How it's billed

Mesatto charges a monthly fee per active restaurant, never per cover or per reservation. OpenTable lists its plans on its site; check them there.

Which one to choose

It depends on who sits at your tables.

Choose OpenTable if…

your restaurants depend on diners who are not staying at the hotel and you need to be found on a diner network.

Choose Mesatto if…

most of your diners are guests and the hard part is sharing the specialty restaurants fairly among them.

Both at once

They can coexist: one tool for outside diners and Mesatto for guests, each with its own allotment. Mesatto does not sync with OpenTable.

What Mesatto doesn't do

It has no diner network, no online booking for outside diners, no walk-in waitlist and no email marketing. An outside visitor is entered by the concierge at their tier's price.

Frequently asked questions

Does Mesatto replace OpenTable?

Only if your restaurants mostly serve in-house guests. Mesatto has no diner network and no online booking for outside diners.

Can I use both?

Yes, with separate allotments: Mesatto does not sync with OpenTable. One way to do it is to keep the outside-diner allotment in OpenTable and the guest allotment in Mesatto.

Does Mesatto charge per cover?

No. A monthly fee per active restaurant; never per cover, per reservation or by commission.

Where does the OpenTable information come from?

From its hotels and casinos page, read on October 11, 2026. If something has changed, email us at hola@mesatto.com and we'll correct it. Trademarks belong to their owners; Mesatto is not affiliated with OpenTable.
